Photo charms and pins are a beautiful way to honour those loved ones missing from your big day, but which photos produce the best results?
Customers often aren't aware of which photo would work best and make an uninformed decision, at times resulting in the photo needing to be changed or the quality not coming out as well as they hoped.
This guide will outline our top tips on choosing the perfect photo for your photo charms and pins to ensure the best quality as possible.
1. Image Quality
The base quality of any photos you submit to us is incredibly important. The better quality you can provide, the better your photo will turn out. We are unable to enhance any photos you send or remove any glare/shine, so please make sure you are happy with the quality on your screen. We advise against taking a photo of a photo to send to us, as this will produce glare on the image which will then show when the photo is printed. If you have professional photos, these will inevitably have the best quality!
2. Submit Original Uncropped Photo
The best photo we can receive is one that is uncropped with the chosen person/people as central to the photo as possible, slightly in the distance, with excess space around them for us to work with. The photo will be cropped by us, for you, so that the subject/s of the photo are as clear and recognisable as possible. Due to the shape of our charms and pins, if your chosen person/people is/are too close to the edge of the photo or they are "zoomed" then they unfortunately won't fit nicely into the required shape for your charm/pin and this will negatively effect the overall finished product. This is especially important for items where the image is produced in the shape of a heart. Please also make sure the subjects of your chosen photo are not too far in the distance, as this will affect the quality of their faces when we crop the photo to fit the desired item.
3. Ensure Multiple Subjects Are Close Together
If you require more than one subject or person in the same photo, please make sure that you follow the guidance above regarding space around them for us to work with, but also please ensure all people you would like included are close together within the photo. We advise not to exceed 2 people within the same photo, as any more than this likely will not fit and be recognisable. If the subjects are too far apart from each other within the photo and there isn't adequate space around them for us to work with, we may not be able to fit them both into the same frame on the base item.
4. Be Clear Which Subjects You Would Like Included
If there are multiple people within a photo but you would only like one featured in a singular frame, please leave us a note stating which person you would like on the charm. For example if you have a group photo but would only like one person on the charm, state something along the lines of "3rd person from the left" or wherever they may be. However, if doing this, please keep in mind that anyone too close to that person may also be in the frame.
5. If Unsure, Please Message
If you are unsure if a particular image would be suitable for a particular item, please feel free to send us a message detailing which item you are looking to order, and send across the photo you are thinking of submitting, and we can advise if the photo would be suitable for that item.
